Enviroment

Daroca de Rioja is a small village of thirty inhabitants, fifteen minutes away from Logroño.  Placed at the foot of the Moncalvillo, our mountain chain, Daroca de Rioja is surrounded by nature which has become the main provider of Venta Moncalvillo´s pantry.

Daroca de Rioja is sourrounded by a rich natural enviroment. It´s forests keep a wide range of species as pines, oak trees, lavander or rosemary. In autumn the forest brings a wide variety of wild mushrooms, wich play its part in the menu in this season. Mountains are also home for wild animals and game meat dishes are important in the menu of Autumn.

Garden

Venta Moncalvillo is located in a natural privileged environment, and fertile. This natural products build the restaurant’s menú. The Ebro and Daroca rivers provide with water Venta Moncalvillo’s field. Its fresh vegetables are the main ingredients when we talk about Ignacio Echapresto’s style of cooking.

The visitor will taste them joining dishes or as a main course. They are the guest stars in our kitchen in all seasons, specially in spring: Zucchini, borrage, tomatoes or artichokes. Our products are collected every day and with a special treatment. Its flavours and smells are unique and we serve them directly in your meal.

Sustainability

From Venta Moncalvillo, we have being working with sustainability for many years. Since 2010, we are engaged with ecologic agriculture and since 2018, we work with biodinamics, with the help of plants and animas from the enviroment, generating our own compost with the kitchen organic waste and avoiding chemicals.
Thanks to our latest renovation, we have being able of create a sustainable space, respectfull with our enviroment and with the planet. We have introduce solar panels wich produce a thirt of the energy that we consume, we also use aerothermy for conditioning, beside, we have replace our fossil fuels for GLP y pellet. We have as well a Charging point for hybrid and electric cars. Working with wather use optimization, trying to reduce the carbon footprint replacing some products that produce high pollution rate.

All this work we have being doing has being rewarded through a audit proces (through AENOR)  «Eficient and Sustainable Certificate»

Gastronomy

Our cuisine is based in the enviroment and what it provides, it is the knowledge and the way we harvest our yard, always being environmentally friendly. Our garden is our main provider, this is why is a priority, for us. In Venta Moncalvillo, we cultivate with the principles of bio-dynamics, choosing and collecting the products daily and it´s smell taste and texture are enjoy right away.

Winery

Venta Moncalvillo’s wine list offers the visitor the posibilitie to taste wine geography and the world’s designations of origin. With over 1800 of references selected from the international outlook of wine made Venta Moncalvillo’s winery richer. Rioja wines are the hosts in this winery, apart from the Spanish wines, and the internationals. This let know a wide view of the wine in general.

Historic wines of The Old Country get mixed up with the new trends of The New World. This shows a reflection of the variety of wine culture, due to this mixing between the national wines and foreign wines.

front and luminous windows show a charming view of the restaurant’s field. The visitor will discover how the vegetables grow in this area and also that they can try them in the menu.

The walls are painted with autumn colors, such as burgundy, or rustic brown, and the light crosses the homemade coloured stained windows in the salon.

With capacity for 10 guests, is ideal for events, meetings, business presentations or family reunions.
